Welcome to Angel City Catering! Founded by Traci and Shad Davis over 15
years ago, we believe that good food is the key to success.
Shad Davis
Chef | Innovator | Tastemaker
With over 20 years in the Los Angeles culinary scene, Shad Davis is a seasoned chef and creative force. A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, he’s helped shape menus for top spots like The Counter Burger, The Belmont, The Federal, and Rock & Reilly’s.
He now leads My Lai, a Vietnamese fast-casual concept he co-founded with his wife, and runs Angel City Catering, known for elevating events with bold, memorable cuisine.
Shad has cooked for icons like LeBron James, Sean Parker, Ellen DeGeneres, and Mayor Karen Bass. Celebrated for his creativity and culinary finesse, he continues to inspire and innovate in the LA food world.
Traci Phan-Davis
Restaurateur & Culinary Visionary
Traci is a former business executive turned restaurateur, passionate about sharing the modern Asian American food experience. A first-generation Vietnamese American raised in Houston, she grew up learning family recipes and bonding over meals.
Her deep love of food evolved into late-night brainstorms, recipe testing, and an idea: a modern Vietnamese fast-casual restaurant. She brought the concept to life with her husband Shad, a seasoned chef and restaurant consultant.
Together they launched Mỹ Lại in Mar Vista during the pandemic—now celebrated for its fresh Vietnamese flavors, health-conscious menu, and welcoming vibe.
